GlazeART 2024 | Call for Abstract

GlazeART 2024 will be held on February 22-23, 2024 in Lisbon. The call for abstracts is open by December 4, 2023.

The International Conference Glazed Ceramics in Cultural Heritage aims to promote new research studies on glazed ceramics cultural heritage. It conveys researchers with diverse academic backgrounds from both the Humanities and Science fields

The Conference held in 2015 and 2018. They brought together researchers with diverse academic backgrounds. Covering various aspects ranging from art and technical art history, analytical characterisations, decay, conservation, production, socio-cultural contexts and other intangible aspects of glazed ceramics. The 2024 edition is the opportunity to discuss azulejos, other architectural glazed ceramics of historic interest but also glazed ware and other historical glazed ceramics in general.

GlazeART 2024 is a networking activity of the transnational research consortium IPERION HS and is organized in partnership by Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil (LNEC), the Portuguese National AZULEJO Museum (MNAz) and the Vicarte Research Unit of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (“Glass and Ceramics for the Arts” – FCT-NOVA). It will take part at LNEC from 22 to 23 of February 2024.

Important dates:

  • December 4, 2023: Last day to submit abstracts
  • December 22, 2023: Confirmation of abstracts acceptance

The registration fee is not required, but registration is mandatory (will be available on the Conference website in the next time).
