2nd International Conference on Optoelectronics and Heritage Science

The 2nd edition of the International Conference “Optoelectronics and Heritage ScienceOPTO-HS 2026” will take place at the National History Museum, Bucharest, Romania, on 7-9 October 2026. The event is organised by the National Institute of Research and Development for Optoelectronics INOE 2000 and the National History Museum of Romania

Optoelectronics (or optronics) is the study and application of electronic devices and systems that find, detect and control light. In this context, light often includes invisible forms of radiation, such as gamma rays, X-rays, ultraviolet and infrared, in addition to visible light. The OPTO-HS 2026 International Conference will focus on Heritage Science (HS) applications, tools and analysis covering the following topics, among others:

  • Development and testing of new materials and techniques for the conservation of Cultural Heritage;
  • Practical implementation: transferring lab knowledge to conservation fieldwork. Case studies;
  • Current methods and methodologies for dating and authentication of heritage;
  • Technological advances in Optoelectronics focused on HS applications;
  • Interdisciplinary topics/ bridges. Optoelectronics as a link across disciplines in HS;
  • Advances in computational analysis and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data management within HS;
  • ER/AR, cognitive digital twins and immersive tools;

The deadline for submitting your abstract is 31st August 2026 at the following link.

Some grants are available for students and can be accessed by sending the abstract and a justification letter to the conference Scientific Committee for evaluation.
