Open position at the Getty Conservation Institute as an Assistant Scientist | Getty Center – Los Angeles | Deadline: September 11, 2024

The Getty Conservation Institute in Los Angeles is looking for an Assistant Scientist to fill a four-year, limited-term position, providing research and analytical support in its Science Department

Work will focus on the Lighting Research and Practice project, which examines issues related to museum lighting and is part of Managing Collections Environments, a multi-project initiative that addresses the sustainable management of collection environments in museums, libraries, and archives. 

The candidate will be an integral member of the Preventive Conservation research team, helping broaden expertise on environmental and object monitoring through laboratory and field studies, assessments of monitoring/analysis tools, and education/training.

This job will be based in laboratories and offices at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. It will begin on-site full-time, and after an initial training and orientation period, a telework schedule will be possible to request.
