The 3rd Webinar co-organized by HS Academy & Joint Programming Initiative on Cultural Heritage and Global Change (JPI – CH) will be held on December 12th, 2023 at 3 pm. To know more about the 3 joint events, visit the page dedicated.
The Webinar will be presented by Dr. Frédérique Duyrat (Paris); Prof. Andrew Meadows (Oxford); Prof. Pere Pau Ripollès (Valencia).
The speakers will talk about the JPI CH-funded Ancient Coinage as Related Cultural Heritage (ARCH). It is a collaborative project to create an online portal for Greek coinage. The project will establish, for the first time, an overarching platform for the study, curation, archiving and preservation of the monetary heritage of the pre-Roman world. It is organized by CSAD at the University of Oxford, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BnF) in Paris and the Department of Archaeology at the University of Valencia.
Trough Linked Open Data technology and the standards of nomisma.org, the project aims to create a complex portal for the conservation and curation of the monetary heritage of the ancient world. It offers a high-level overview of all the coin types traditionally subsumed within the discipline of ‘Greek’ numismatics, from the 7th to the 1st century BC.
