Job Vacancy: Community and Institutional Affairs – Senior Officer at the E-RIHS Central Hub, Florence, Italy  | Application Deadline: 31 March 2026 

E-RIHS ERIC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Officer for Community and Institutional Affairs to join its Central Hub in Florence, Italy. This is a full-time tenure-track position, offered as a one-year contract with the possibility of a permanent appointment following a positive evaluation. The gross annual salary is €59,100 and includes full social security coverage under Italian labour law. 

The Senior Officer will support the structured engagement of E-RIHS’s scientific and institutional community, combining responsibilities in capacity building, governance and institutional support. The role includes planning and implementing the HS Academy training programme in collaboration with National Nodes, monitoring its impact through defined KPIs, and fostering engagement across established and emerging scientific communities. 

The position also entails supporting the effective functioning of the General Assembly and other statutory bodies, managing institutional relationships with current and prospective Members and Observers, and contributing to the consolidation and enlargement of E-RIHS within and beyond the European Union. 

Candidates should hold a master’s degree and have at least five years of relevant professional experience in the cultural heritage sector, within a relevant domain (e.g. humanities, architecture, natural and applied sciences, engineering or digital fields). They should also demonstrate experience in community engagement, capacity-building or training activities, and/or support to governance processes. An excellent command of English is essential.
