10th Balkan Symposium on Archaeometry

Between 19th and 22nd October, 2026, the 10th Balkan Symposium on Archaeometry (BSA) will take place. This conference series focuses on the scientific examination of archaeological finds and, more broadly, cultural heritage in Balkan countries through the lens of archaeometry and archaeological science.

The 10th BSA provides a unique opportunity for archaeologists, archaeometrists and scientists to meet and exchange ideas on the latest developments in archaeometry and heritage science.

Archaeometry (synonymous with archaeological science) is the formal field of study whose practitioners apply techniques and approaches from the physical, chemical, biological, earth sciences and engineering to address archaeological questions and problems.  To cover all aspects of this vast field of science, the conference programme includes a wide range of themes distributed over four days: three days focused on presenting sessions (invited, oral and poster presentations) and a one-day tour to archaeological and historical places and museums.

The call for abstracts is currently open and will close on May 31st, 2026. All deadlines and the agenda are available here.
