University College London, www.ucl.ac.uk,  was established in 1826. UCL’s mission to create and disseminate new knowledge is supported by the latest scientific and IT infrastructure, creative learning spaces and diverse museums and collections – all underpinned by the UK’s greatest concentration of professors. UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage has a cross-disciplinary team of academic staff whose research spans sustainable heritage management and cutting-edge heritage science. The excellence of ISH research has been recognized at an international level, for example, in 2010, with others, it was awarded the Europa Nostra Grand Prix for Research, for the Noah’s Ark project studying the effects of climate change on heritage buildings and sites. The ISH has built strong relationships with numerous heritage institutions and policy bodies, to ensure that its research addresses real-life heritage problems, and is targeted towards the needs of end-users. UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage has been appointed as the National Coordinator of ERIHS. UK, with 13 founding Parties. An agreement to deliver E-RIHS.UK is under negotiation. UCL, will have the following 3rd parties providing in-kind contributions to the project: The National Gallery (London), University of Brighton, University of York, University of Glasgow and Nottingham Trent University.
