DESCRIPTION:International Conference on advances in photonic techniques for Cultural Heritage \n\n\nLACONA “Lasers in the Conservation of Artworks” is the International Conference on advances in photonic techniques for diagnostics and conservation-restoration of cultural heritage.\nSince 1995\, LACONA has gathered together researchers\, conservators\, and restorers from public institutions and private enterprises for discussing novel approaches in non-invasive material characterization\, conservation treatments\, and monitoring based on photon sources and sensors. \nThe topics of the Conference focus on innovation in dedicated spectroscopic\, imaging\, and laser treatment systems and on their optimized application over the whole range of the conservation themes of tangible heritage.\nLACONA XIII\, which will be held in Florence\, on September 13-17\, 2021\, aims at strengthening and enriching the tradition of the Conference by encouraging the submission of contributions on the most advanced photonic tools and methods\, their rigorous validation\, and exemplary applications in safeguarding cultural heritage. \nResearchers\, technologists\, conservators and restorers are warmly invited to submit their abstracts on photonic techniques for diagnostics\, restoration-conservation and related best practices. \n\nFor more information\, registration\, and submission: www.lacona13.eu

SUMMARY:International Symposium – CONSOLIDATION 2021: Stone Consolidation in Cultural Heritage – April 2021\, Lisbon
DESCRIPTION:For researchers\, practitioners and producers to contribute with their research and technical knowledge\nIn the sequence of the 2008 Symposium on this same subject\, LNEC is organizing a new event to update what has been achieved in this relevant field of heritage science. The event will also honour Dr José Delgado Rodrigues on his 50th year of activity as researcher and consultant\, during which he contributed in many ways to broaden the scientific and technical knowledge in the field of stone consolidation\, which is\, perhaps\, the most complex and difficult subject in stone conservation\, and the one in which more research efforts have been invested to solve the challenging problems of the daily conservation practice.\nThe motivation of this symposium is to gather researchers\, practitioners and producers in a dedicated forum where this topic will be the exclusive subject for presentations and discussions to go deeper into the subject giving the stage to experienced agents and to young newcomers into the field\, discussing the past and recent experiences\, and bringing new ideas and proposals for the future. \nRegistration before October 31st\, 2020 \nFor further information please\, visit http://consolidation2021.lnec.pt/index.html \nLeaflet
