E-RIHS and JPI-CH signed a Joint Declaration in October 2019.

JPI CH and E-RIHS join forces to promote a research and innovation partnership for the future of Cultural Heritage. They represent two structuring and highly complementary projects with evident convergences and synergies.

One of the challenges with a considerable impact on heritage sciences are research and in-depth knowledge of Heritage materials and Heritage artefacts. They will work together to develop ambitious and long-term programmes. The collaboration will focus on developing new knowledge and methods, fostering interdisciplinarity through the hybridization of disciplinary fields and contribute to the emergence of a new generation of researchers. The collaboration will represent a unique opportunity for Europe to reaffirm its world leadership in Cultural Heritage research and innovation.

E-RIHS provides the enabling framework for the development of the four themes in the JPI CH Strategic Research Agenda.
