Digital Heritage 2018: New Realities: Authenticity & Automation in the Digital Age

Between 26 and 30 October 2018, the 3th congress “Digital Heritage” was held in San Francisco at Fort Mason Center. The congress is one of the main opportunity to discuss on digital technology for documenting, conserving and sharing heritage—from monuments & sites, to museums & collections, libraries & archives, and intangible traditions & languages. This year, the focus of the congress was on culture and technology domains from computer science to cultural preservation, archaeology to art, architecture to archiving, museums to musicology, history to humanities, computer games to computer graphics, digital surveying to social science, libraries to language, and many more.
During the congress, a special session and panel was dedicated to E-RIHS. The topic of this session was “Digital Heritage Science and Infrastructures for Transatlantic Cooperation. Promoting multi-lateral cooperation through E-RIHS Digilab”. In the first part of the day, key speakers presented digital methods applied in Heritage Science, while in the second part panelists discussed about strategies for cooperation in Digital Heritage Science.
